Can Work group replication be forced? (Earlier question
that I need to bring back to life for further
clarification). We are running XP Professional, No
domain or serve. 5 computers are in a common WORKGROUP.
Looking for a way to force resynchronization so all the
network data (shared folders, users, access permissions)
are current. If I do gpupdate in the START > RUN box (or
at MDOS Prompt), I get the response "unrecognized
command".
Thanks, Spyro

I tried START => Run => gpudate
I also tried gpudate at a DOS prompt.
Command was unrecognized in both cases.

You can force the replication on the network by
running from each stations the command "gpupdate"
(without the coma), from a dos promp. If their all XP
if there is some station with 2000 pro or 9x it is a
different command.

Computer browsing is a little unpredictable. However
the computers are available and you can access them
by name.

We have a Workgroup of 5 PCs, no Server and no
domain. It seems that when any of the PCs are
rebooted, or users are added or modified, that it
takes a long (unpredicatble) amount of time for the
entire network to work right again (that is for
shared folders to be properly shared and seen and
accessed). How often do the computers in a workgroup
go around and update their "network knowledge"?
Can I force a resynchronization of all the PCs on the
Workgroup?
Thanks,
Spyro
