I have a WinXP Pro system and I need a service to start on
boot. I set it to auto, etc. with no luck. I can manually
start the service at any time.

In NT I could just go to services and force a start on
boot. Can you help me do that in XP Pro?

Thanks for your help!

Setting the service to Automatic causes the OS to send a
request on boot to the service to start.
What happens when you set it to Automatic and reboot?
Are there any event log messages about the service?
What service is it?

I dont know if this will help but I once accidently put
an icon in the all programs menu into the folder marked
start up and it would start every time I booted up it
took me a while to workout what was going on.
