For those of you who flamed me ...

I didn't, as you stated, come to this news group to bash it. I came here
asking a simple question: How can I print out the results of a Windows file
search? I am amazed that such a thing is not possible.

No one in this news group or at M$ has yet to give me an answer. Instead I
got answers to a question that I never asked (how to print the results of a
DOS file search) and then I got flamed. So when I stated that Windows Sucks
(still my opinion despite your flaming efforts) it was a response, not a
premeditated activity.

Now I'm being told that it's like I bought a Ferrari and I want my money
back because the glove box light is in the back. Bullsh*t!

Windows is no Ferrari of OS's and file search results are way more important
to computer operations than a glove box light is to driving a car.

So for those of you who claim that I'm either a troll or an idiot, that's an
easy way to admit that this OS has left it's users behind time and time
again.

Honestly, when I first posted my question I figured I'd have a dozen answers
by the end of the day. Instead I got nothing but grief from you so-called
professionals.

Thanks for the help. I have to go now because I'm busy hand-writing the
results of an extensive file search.

from the dos prompt type
dir <filename_to_search> /s >c:\filelog.txt
then you can print the result
if you want to directly print
dir <filename_to_search> /s >lpt1
if you have a device connected to your lpt1

bye

Agostino, thank you for your reply. I don't want to sound unappreciative to
anyone who takes the time to reply.

Unfortuneately, that won't work for me. My search is to find all Access
mdb's that have a certain P/N in a table or somewhere in the design elements
and also that have been modified in the past 18 months. Dos searches, as far
as I know, don't have that ability. Windows searches do, but then I get a
list of 285 documents and no way to print that out.

Thanks again,
