Eric

I have a program called "Crowbar" that I got a year or so ago, and thought
you may be interested in putting it on your respective sites, as I have not
seen it anywhere else. It is a freeware program made by David Malpheus who
use to be on a site called helixware.com, but from what I can tell the site
is no longer running.

Anyway what the program does is go into your add/remove program directory of
programs and literally crowbars out stubborn file listings that wont come
out under normal uninstalls.

If either of you are interested in the program let me know, and I'll direct
you to my website where I will keep it for you to download, as I won't send
it in an email.

I encourage you to use whatever AV program on the file to ensure that it is
not a virus of any kind.

Regards,

Eric

I'm not SOS but I could store it on FWT.
How big is it.?

I found and downloaded Crowbar from the site below
Crowbar v0.8 Freeware
David Malphrus (e-mail address removed)

http://www.winsite.com/bin/Info?500000031583

And yes the Homepage seems down or gone
http://www.helixware.com/

File is only 7K

The installer works to the point of placing the program properly into a
c:\Program Files\Crow Bar but fails to make a shortcut, but that easily
accomplished. NOTE: I am using Win XP Home

I hope this helps

I have version 0.93 available for download at my website
www.gladstone.uoregon.edu/~gunneric you will find the link at the
bottom of the
page, and I believe this version puts a shortcut on your desktop, it's
been so long since I installed it that I don't really remember though.

Any way it's there for anyone who is interested in downloading it,
though I would suggest doing it soon as I have graduated from the U of
O and will be losing my webspace soon.

I will try and make it available on my other ISP whenever they can
keep the servers up and running.

[thought]

Let's not forget that the current "pricelessware" software programs were
*nominated* and then *voted* into position by readers of ACF.

Having easy access to downloads (even if the program is no longer
supported) may be taken into consideration with voters during the next
voting period. Your post, is in itself, a nomination - albeit early.

By not being in the nominiation period, and not being a response to a request
for nominations, it is not a nomination.
