When Microsoft released XP they said that Windows Messenger was the
'messenger' program for XP and that MSN Messenger would 'NEVER' run on XP. I
see that apparently the folks in Redmond have had a change of heart.

I think that Microsoft owes the users a clear "Statement of Direction"
regarding the path they taking with the messenger products and NOT leave the
users to speculate as to where they are headed.

As you have the ear of the Microsoft Groups responsible for the messenger
products, please ask the appropriate people to issue a clear "Statement of
Direction" for the messenger products.

Hi Chuck,

A lot has changed since Windows XP's launch (I was reading an older document on Technet the
other day that said nearly word-for-word what you just said).

This is the direction things are going -- MSN Messenger is moving around MSN technologies
(Hotmail, MSN Member Profiles, MSN Mobile, etc.) whereas Windows Messenger is moving around
Windows technologies (Exchange Server, Office Live Communications Server 2003/Greenwich,
Windows Netmeeting, etc.).
