This is propostorus! Windows XP needs 64 minimum to run,
and here we have MSN messenger live taking up 128 mb ram???
Plus another 116 Page file size....
Proof? Look at the screenshot here:

I should thing this should be dubbed : Msn Live, the WHALE edition!
Pehaps a little icon of a smiling whale should be designed. just for the fun
of it!

LOL

Plus the msn messenger designer-labs should be moved to London.

Dito.

The memory leak is known, and it's beeing searched down and squashed.
Hopefully a new build will be released soon.

Greetings,

Actually typically for me after a day or so of usage, it takes up nearly a GB of memory.

I agree this is ridiculous but I'm sure this will be resolved before it comes out of beta.

The usage people are seeing happens only after a long period (read as: a day) of heavy use.
It's simply holding on to the memory of "old" conversation windows, even after they're
closed. Then, they get moved by Windows' memory manager into the page file, which is where
I'm seeing my 1.7GB. So, it's important to turn on the VM Size column of the Task Manager to
actually determine the exact usage.

mine takes up about the same as Jon's, well actually 1.4 when I first
started I got VM warnings though. lol

Thanks for the repro. I know for a fact I restarted it at some point yesterday, so I'm not
quite sure why it's this bad specifically today. In general it's usually hovered over the GB
point before I restarted it.

An image so people can see what we're talking about:

Follow-up:

Amusingly I just got a VM warning; it at the moment using nearly 1.7GB of memory, after a day
of usage.

I leave my running for days and havn't noticed a problem. I'll keep an
eye on it. At last...it's working fine for me ;)

Do you have logging turned on? I know mine is off. Maybe it only caches
it in memory if you're logging?
