A follow up on this issue.
A friend copied a photo file from his hard drive to the memory card of an
Olympus C5060WZ camera (photo was taken by this camera).
The only thing done to this file was changing the name of the original file.
The camera cannot read this file.
So, as far as I know, attempts to tranferring modified files(file name
change only or edited files) will not work on the Sony, Olympus and Minolta
cameras (at least the models tried).
Why it works on your Kodak DX 6440 is a mystery to me. But certainly a
feature I would like to have.

A cannon would read it too. Although it will only show the last series of files copied - it doesn't care if it's from another digital camera.

Thanks for the info. Very interesting how these cameras (Kodak or Canon)
behave vs Sony Olympus and Minolta.
