Dear Bria

thanks for your response 1/12/2004 to the above thread that I posted on 1/11/2004 although I cannot read it. Do I need to register and be logged on as "member" user of the newsgroup etc to read your response? I am pretty much a newbie to this newsgroup thing

thanks anyway

Hi Ed,

I'm not Brian but I'm a pretty fluent newsgroup user.

I see you're using the web interface to these newsgroups. You'll have a much
easier time if you use Outlook Express to read news.

Open Outlook Express, then Tools > Accounts > Add > News. Microsoft's free
news server is msnews.microsoft.com. Fill in the rest of the dialog as
pertains to you (name, email, etc.) After you set up the account OE will ask
you if you want to download a list of the newsgroups that are available -
say yes. To easily find this newsgroup put someting like "messenger" in the
filter box. Subscribe to the newsgroup and any others that look interesting.
After that OE will download a couple of hundred of the latest messages (you
can configure this) and you can sort on Subject or From to find your other
thread.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Outlook Express is on OE MVP Tom
Koch's website: http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com.

Thanks for the tip Cindy!!! Will certainly work through Outlook Express for the news

Best regards
Edwar
