Hi Bill:

What's the possibility of setting up some additional
categories on this site? I think a simple "Check Here
First" with specific directions would help a lot.
Several of you must be getting writer's cramp from
posting the same answers over and over. For example,I
went back two weeks and found every post that you and
Plun wrote. While I certainly enjoyed reading and
copying all of the links, tips and hints there are common
issues being posted here everyday. Yes, apparently some
folks don't know how to do a search on the site, but some
simply won't search anyway. And the collected info is
really valuable for all of us. It would certainly help
all of those about.blank and "Why can't I scan at 12:00
people."

Thanks to you and Plun as well as Ron C, Ron K, Randy K,
and many other posters. I've found and joined several
anti-spyware sites and feel much more knowledable. And a
lot safer on-line. That CCleaner is fantastic Plun!

Hi

Thanks Bill, you forgot JohnF (great testing) and double
Andy and
a lot more people.

I know my english is terrible but I must contribute
in some way to help people out of this mess,
every Windows user all over world fight against this
"hijackers".

MSAS can be a great product for this but i think it`s
important to
support all community Forums, they have been fighting with this
in at least two years.

And of course to Merijn, HijackThis and CWS shredder author.
He started this battle against spyware.

And CCleaner is a real "House cleaner"........ ! I wish
it was so simple
to clean my real house, press "Analyse" and "Remove" ;)

I am jumping in. I have used ccleaner for a year and it is great. It is
interesting that on "microsoft.public.windowsxp.general," Kelly puts it
down. Oh Well, everyone to their own.

Hi

Everyone must have right to have their own opininon, we live
in a free world.

And yes it´s great. ;)

CCleaner is excellent - you can get rid of all these cookies that everyone
complains about, but opt to keep those you really need.

.........but back to Bob's original point: it would save you guys having to
restate the same old things if the

FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm

or the test version were immediately visible when us panicky folk logged on
with our problems. I don't know how to do it, as I am quite new to
newsgroups, but the only similar one I have seen on www.radioandtelly.com
has a
"FAQ READ THIS FIRST" which is really useful to have.

Like Bob I appreciate all the information posted by all you guys.

They come back............ and most important is all hidden
files within temporarily
folders.

We must still understand MSAS is still in beta and things will change over
time. Some persons have reported finding spyware with MSAS that adaware and
other utilities have just skipped. So, I would say, the more protection, the
better. Use additional thirdparty antispyware solutions with MSAS. Plus,
also keep your AV upto date.

Well, I do believe that MS have so much major facts from
this Beta that
no more clues are needed to build Beta 2.

It is more important now to help users out of this "swamp".

Or to give up and advice them to choose Mozilla Firefox.

Hi Bob,

< What's the possibility of setting up some additional categories on this

Slim to none work for you? Mark's FAQ's would be a great default staring
place for folks to cruise by.
Several of you must be getting writer's cramp from posting the same

Shh. I'm a lousy typist, and use a freeware called "Treepad" for the
redundant ones. :)

<Yes, apparently some folks don't know how to do a search on the site, but
some simply won't search anyway.>
I think many of our viewers are 'newbies' to NGs. This may be particularlly
so with the inlcusion of the link to the NG's in the Help Section of MWAS>

< It would certainly help all of those about.blank and "Why can't I scan at

I like the 'how come this #### thing didn't find any ### cookies questions
myself.

Your welcome, and thanks to all for pitching in!

It's funny in that these NG's are really for and about the program, yet is
certainly expanded into BadWare Central pretty quick eh?

microsoft.public.security.homeusers and microsoft.public.security.virus are
also great groups to find a fix.

I'm a little concerned personally about the growth of FF and the exponential
for a vuln to whack it right between the eyes. I don;t wish it upon the
porgram, but it'll happen. Meanwhile, I'll stay tuned for what's going to
come out in IE7, particularly on the security/safety fronts.

For sure......

Well, if you look at ALL modern community board forums
they are all badware centrals. This is wellknown and this
will be a "badware central" for a long time.

MS can´t change that fact and they have been sleeping in
almost 2 years about this. Perhaps MSAS can help a lot but
I also think we will have more sophisticated spyware, so
this will be longrun I´m sure. We also have a risk with
unemployd virus specialists starting to work for
spywareindustri beacuse of MS have taking over this.

So this will be Badware central !

Everything meets when you install MSAS, get rid of virus,
servicepack levels etc. And you must often get rid of
malicious software before you can install SP2.
microsoft.public.security.homeusers and
microsoft.public.security.virus are
also great groups to find a fix.

Yes certainly but look at MSAS homepage, where can I get
support, Aha I have link to this NG...........

I think this is great, a real competiton . ;)

I have FireFox, Mozilla and Netscape 7 on my system, but I'm hooked to IE,
its just so much better in terms usability. I know Microsoft is gearing up
for great security experience with IE 7 and MSAS with help to make that a
wonderful experience of course.

Andre,
No N'Scape 8 for you? Public beta is out.

I use Deepnet once in a while, but mostly for the RSS feeds.

Hi Plun,
For the time being I think badware is going to be a growth industry.

I have always advocated that folks use the program that they are most
comfortable with, and that works best for them. I don't endorse specific
products, but sometimes slip and give an opinion. :)
