Hi there,

You both are very experienced, know very well and give wonderful tips.
You usually recommend. Kaspersky or Symantec .
So, I want to know what is your opinion on nod32 like?

I've never recommended NAV, and I haven't seen David do that either.

It's come a long way in the last couple of years. It's a fast scanner
with excellent detection rates and heuristics. You'll find both KAV
and NOD32 recommended by many posters on this newsgroup.

McAfee has excellent detection rates as well, but it seems there are
complaints about the home version(s). Another product which has
come a long way is Bit Defender. It also has strong heuristics for
finding new and "unknown" malware.

KAV isn't noted for strong heuristics, but rather for Kaspersky Lab's
extremely fast reaction times, small and very frequent updates, and
its leadership in the detection of a wide variety of malicious code.
It has some other outstanding capabilites when used on-demand. It's my
personal favorite by far.

Art is correct, I don't express positive opinions of Norton AV.
Additionally, Art's summation is on target and I don't have anything to add.

Not Art or David but here's my 2¢ worth.

I've used or tried many different AV programs over the past 10 years.
Until I tried NOD32 about a year and a half ago, the defunct Dr.
Solomons was my favorite.

I use NOD32 on all of my PCs that are "in harms way', that is that I use
for regular connection to the internet. On the others, I run F-Prot for
windows. I have F-Prot for DOS in addition on my NOD32 systems.
