For 12 months my email is not stored in .pst. Where?

I had to do a hard install of XP Pro and it wiped out all my previous
configurations. No big deal in reinstalling programs, but I can't find a
..pst file anywhere on my computer that is newer than 12 months ago, therefore
I am about to lose a year of emails, which I cannot afford to do. Please,
somebody help me find where the emails are stored. Thanks, Phil
 
'Hard Install'? would that be clean install of WinXpPro or OfficeXPpro?
If clean install of win then everythings gone, probably

or simply search for *.pst, to include hidden files.
PS If you cannot afford to lose data why no backups, a PC is not an
infalible device.
