How do I make a footnote a lighter shade than the contents of my word doc? My boss wants me to make up several word docs, but he wants me to put created by xxx on xxx. I don't want it to be the focal point of the document, so I need to make the footnote a lighter shade of print.

you could also change the "Footnote Text" style so that the colour is grey
or something similar - that way this can be easily altered and future
footnotes will appear as you want them to.

HTH - PS I'm not sure that the Win2000.General newsgroup is the best one for
this query - I'd suggest one of the Word newsgroups. :)

you need to do the view->header/footer->highlight the text in and format
the font color by choosing an option from right-click menu or going to
format->font and choosing color there.

I hope it helps
