Footnote Font

Hi Nina,

To do this, you re-format the style name 'footnote text'. You may need to
create a footnote first to get access to it. If you want this style to be
the default for all documents based on a particular template (eg
normal.dot), use the Format|Style|Organiser to transfer the style from the
current document to the template concerned.

Cheers

In versions of Word before Word 2002, just go to Format | Style, make sure
that "All styles" is displayed, select the Footnote Text style, and click
Modify..., then Format: Font. If you want this change to apply to all new
documents based on the template, check the box for "Add to template."

If you're using Word 2002 or 2003, modifying most styles is easy, but Word
is stubborn about displaying the Footnote Text style: it won't display in
the Styles and Formatting task pane even if you select "All styles." So
choose "Custom..." This will display the format settings dialog. Click the
button for Styles at the bottom and then proceed as above (except that you
can choose the font directly in the Modify Style dialog, without having to
go to Format: Font).

Thanks

I did it as you said and it works. Thank you so much. Only it took a little while before you replied.

What do you mean...? It took a little while?
On my computer your post was posted at 15:21 and Suzanne replied at 19:35.

Try getting a FREE reply within 4 hours with any big company when you need
help because, let's face it, basically you do not know how to use their
product. Please do not feel offended by what I am writing here, I am just
stating the facts. You want to do something, you do not know how, therefore
you do not know how to use the product. It is not a value judgement on my
part.

People answering posts in these newsgroups do it because they want to help,
also because they know it is not an easy thing to do (I mean understanding
how to use Word with all of its little idiosyncrasies) and mostly because
they like it. Nobody is getting paid and nobody works for Microsoft here.
So, any post is just that, a post... no guarantee that anyone will get a
reply. In fact, getting a reply to a post is not a right, but a privilege.

Don't take this personally, I just want to make sure you understand the
principles involved here.

Have a great weekend and do write back if you need help with anything else,
someone will be around and will be more than happy to help.

Cheers!
