Football has now broken through the realms of stupidity once and for all..Time for capping transfers and wages .

Kaka (Brazilian Footballer) in proposed move from AC Milan to Manchester City...

Brazil star Kaka says he wants to stay at AC Milan despite talk of a transfer to Manchester City. A City delegation has been in Milan and reportedly made a bid in the region of £100m, with a weekly wage of £500,000, for the midfielder.

:(

He is 26 years old so a 8 year contract with £100,000,000 signing and £26,000,000 per year wage x 8

equals a mind boggling total of £308,000,000 or just over 1/3 billion pounds
contract

It will all end in tears!
I really cant see in the current financial climate & downturn that these sought of wages are still being offered. What if City got relegated or they can not generate enough money or their owner goes bust, what then?

It's absolutely ridiculous.

This sort of thing just distorts the whole game and threatens the vast majority of clubs in the Premiership who can never compete.

I agree, time for some sort of regulation (although,in general, I'm against it).

1/2 A MILLION PER WEEK?

Say he works 40 hours/week that is £12500/hour!

Surely footballers wages can't go on like this for ever - things like this really make be begrudge going to matches, when all I want to do it support my team (without paying them silly money out of my own pocket).

Even Manchester City manager Mark Hughes rules under a monetry umbrella

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes says the club's big-money offer for Brazilian superstar Kaka makes football and business sense.

Talks are ongoing between City and AC Milan over a reported world record £91m transfer for the 26-year-old.

"The money involved is something we feel, from a football and business point of view, works," said Hughes. "The process has moved forward at a pace this week but people shouldn't be thinking that it is just a whim."

just what people will do to justify crap is beyond belief...

I can understand his position , he is manager and can`t wait to coach the worlds best footballers...get real MARK your days are numbered ..i will give you 1 month if Kaka signs then you will be sacked..with a massive pay off so don`t worry..

Maybe Mr Mourinho will take over as he likes to manage clubs on a limitless budget...oh the special one .lol.lol

Agree with you ian this is mad paying someone this money.

If people stop paying people like sky and stop buying tickets.

Just think where this money could go the NHS for one,School, etc.

Not being a football fan I'd just say football hasn't gone mad, it's always been mad

And lemme see, they're paying money for kaka?

Kaka is what I called those rather whiffy deposits in my kid's nappies :D

I honestly hope Man-city sign him [Kaka] then get demoted. Yay Hey they will go ASS under> More money than sense! Some business acumen shown there I see:rolleyes:

Football now is a really good way to get your name at the top of a nations economy...if its your countries national sport... ..

Fact ... The chairman or MD of the countries best or richest team will be above even its Prime minister or president...

business eh.... just a little World Pastime..

Oh and by the way Sky or anything else media wise in the UK pales into insignificance.

It is sickening to think of this much money being spent on a footballer. No player is worth that much money and especially not for a team like City who are currently fighting for their rights in the Premiership next season.

The amount of wages mentioned is mind boggling and ridiculous. I hope he does not make the move purely for money.
What do Manchester City have over Milan? No European prestige, no top 4 challengers and no control by the manager.

I get the feeling that Mark Hughes is being undermined by the owners of the club surely good old sparky wouldn't spend that much money.
