Hi,
Is it possible to use a different cartridge type on a deskjet?
For example, use a type 45 i.o. the prescribed type 15 (e.g. on a
940C)?

thanks,
victor

No. Best you can do is slurp the ink out of the 45 into the 15 with a
syringe and a dirll. (Don't do that, please, may be messy, and may very
likely not work anyway)

You can refilled or remanufactured cartridges, cheaper.

You've been watching the Red Green Show. Got your duct tape handy?

Hilarious is it? You guys from HP?
Watch the refill scene: there are type-15 refills with double its
original volume! Meaning: most probably an ordinary 45 sold as a 15!

That is not why you can't. Little bitty circuits on HP ink carts
Identify them to the printer (among other things). the printer will NOT
print with a type 45 ink cart.

Type 15 refills are type 15 refills. Period. There are places that can
remanufacture ink cartridges, that might transform similar cartridges,
but that's harder.

The carts sold with the printer have less ink than the ones you buy
separately.
