Fooling a 3-pin fan connector on the motherboard

Could I connect something to the 3-pin fan connector on the motherboard
to trick the BIOS into believing that there is a fan on it?

The motherboard from a HP Pavilion m1148hk would halt with a fan error
if there was not a fan connecting to the connector. I want to
permanently disable that error....

Is there any option in the BIOS to disable fan alarms?

Otherwise, move a fan connector from another fan...

I've owned an HP Pavillion, and their custom BIOS was stripped down to
the bare minimum.

They probably want to limit the amount of tech
support spent on people who mess something up and don't know how to fix it.

You got it, Your Honor! The fan detection is mandatory and there is no
BIOS menu option to disable it.
