Hello,
in a recent thread several people have been excited about foobar2000.
I want to try it out.
Can you point me to classic skins for this player? It was not possible
for me to detect one.

Many thanks for your help,
Guenter

George thank you for the reply. Didn't work (because I have WIN98SE,
but GDI+ installed?)

I also tried the skins *.dll with WIN98 using GDI+ with no luck. Even tried
the beta foobarlooks *.dll which requires LUA *.dlls and the GDI+ *.dll.
That didn't work either. The non-beta crashed FooBar anytime a menu option
was selected (Foobar would close and upon exit would open a errors text
file). The beta seemed more promising as I could actually open the
preferences dialog and see that the looks *.dll had installed, but the GUI
would go crazy when selecting the FooBarLooks menu item.

Speaking of GUIs and Foobar: does anybody know of an alternate source for
the foo_syfm.dll created by BillCow and made available on the FooBar forum:

http://billcow.cjb.net/foo_syfm.dll

The above link does not work anymore. The *.dll allows you to change the
appearance of the FooBar GUI on the fly without having to go through all
the "cut & paste" that you otherwise have to do with the text strings.

Thank you.

P.S.

I've been a happy user of QCD (Quintessential Player) for some time now and
I probably won't give it up. It definitely has some nice skins available,
has plenty of features, and is a solid player. Also, QCD uses less CPU
cycles than FooBar if that matters to you. QCD on one of my PCs never goes
above 8% average while FooBar ranged from 13.5% to over 30% depending on
which playback device I used in the settings (no other DSPs were on, nor
was resampling on...that high CPU usage was strictly based on playback
device chosen).
