i have just switched on my computer and all of the words
are in a strange font that looks like squares, circles
and strange lines. i did not change the font and i can
use the computer i just can't read any of the words.

i have tried to change the font back and in the font
place it says fixedsys or system. there are no other
choices. i have also tried to change it in control panel
and there are only the 2 choices. all shortcuts on
desktop, internet explore and the toolbare are in this
strange font. file drop down menus are okay.

i have also run the system check disk on the xp disk and
it says everything is okay.

i have also run virus checkers and it says there is
nothing wrong.

any ideas please?

Did you try the System Restore tool?
