I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop that came
with Windows XP Home Edition already installed on it. I
purchased this computer for my home office. The problem
is, the font I use for all of my business correspondence
and marketing materials is not on the computer. I
checked the list of fonts and the font I use, Copperplate
Gothic Light, is not on it! This new computer is of no
use to me without that font! I know there is a simple
solution for this, downloading the font onto my laptop,
but i can't figure out how to do it.

Help!! Thanks

What applications were you using on the previous computer. The font was
likely a part of some application you had installed on that system.

You can also check www.google.com and do a search from their for fonts or
even that particular font.

FYI, if the font is not installed on the receiving machine, it will default
to a font that is, usually, Times New Roman or Arial. It will make no
difference what font you compose in unless you send your "correspondence"
as an image file.

JAX, it looks as though she does a lot of printing!:-)

Here's a couple of places to look at:

Thanks Michael, by "correspondence", I took it she was speaking of Word
documents, etc. sent as attachments or e-mail directly or, perhaps to a
networked computer.

Cheers, JAX
