Wallyworld

I'm using windows XP home edition and there are some fonts that came
with my word processor that are in the font directory. And when I
choose some of the fonts, the letters appear as hollow black squares.
Does anyone know what's going on?

Each square indicates a code for which the font does not supply a character.
Usually these fonts are special purpose that supply a limited character set
(only capitals, for example.)
