The term "default font" is nebulous. Please explain:

o The exact setting you've changed.
o The exact item that's displaying ARIAL(SERIF).

Brian,

I am not sure which version of FrontPage you are using, however, try looking under Tools, Page Options, Default Font tab.

If you do not find your desired result there post someadditional information like which font you are trying to chage and what version you are working with.

It's in FP2003, where when you apply a Style or use Format Font,
The first font that shows up is "Arial (serif)" - guess alphabetical sort does that
- a strange combination since Arial is sans-serif and there is no Arial serif font installed on the system
- doesn't matter what you set as your "default font" it is still the 1st one to show up
It essentially acts like the Default Font (no font type is applied when you use it)

That's not the way it works for me. If I choose Format, Font or choose to
modify the font in a style, the Font dialog always appears with my current
font selected.

I suspect one of the other MSO 2003 Programs (InfoPath, OneNote, etc) may have introduced that font

I'm using FP 2002.
I'm going to TOOLs, and setting the Language to
US/Western European.
Default Proportion & Fixed Width to ARIAL.
When I type to a web page it shows Arial, but when I
preview or upload it changes to Arial(Serif)
As my current web pages are in Arial it would be helpful
to have to avoid keep changing new pages or amendments to
existing pages.

Any help would be appreciated.

The default font setting only applies to how you see your page while design,
you must assign font using the font menu or via CSS to your text for it
shown on the web.
