Hello to everyone out there. I'm sixty and this is my first computer. I've had it for about a year and boy what an adventure. I feel like a babe in the woods so forgive me if my questions sound inane. Well here goes. I have noticed in my programs such as Microsoft word and Wordperfect or any of my programs that require the use of fonts that not all of the fonts displayed in my fonts folder are in the drop down window in any of my user programs. All the fonts that show as TrueType fonts are there but I have noticed several font icons with the letter O (OpenType) and A and none of those fonts appear in my drop down list. I'm wondering if these fonts are inactive for some reason and is there a way to reactivate them or are they just shown in the list but for some reason are blocked. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Manny.

I can't say for sure, but some fonts are not alpha fonts. That is they
are symbols like bar codes and are not designed for normal use.
