The fonts in the Local folders and newsgroup headers are too small, If iI
increase font size to 120 DPI they are not bad but fonts in the rest of
windows are too big. Am running 1280 x 1024 on a 19 inch viewsonic LCD.
Is there somewhere in the registry where I can change the font size For
Windows Mail without doing a Global change?
These 72 years old and tired eyes would really appreciate any and all help.

Thanks Kindly, Rene Lamontagne

Hi Rene!
try this: click Right mouse button anywhere on vista desktop then click
"personalize" click window color & appearance.
Then click on: open Classic appearance properties for more color option at
bottom of page.
Click on advanced in the appearance settings window then on desktop. Click
on "Icon" then change font to a size(drop down box) that pleasing to you. I
changed mine to 15. You also make it bold by clicking on the "B".

Hope this helps!

Have a great day!!!

Why go through that. The person is wanting the text size in Windows Mail"
changed - not Windows.

To the O/P

Open Windows Mail. Go to view | Text Size

Choose what you want from there.

Richard read his post again what he wants to change is not changed by going
to :
Open Windows Mail. Go to view | Text Size

And his header says "Fonts In Windows Mail Too Small"

Guess he has two problems/conditions.

Thanks Richard and Kue2.

The View> text size in mail only lets me pick ' Fixed '. the other options
won't let me put in a checkmark!!!.

Anyway Much to my great surprize and Joy changing the font size in Icon
options in appearance> advanced does work!!!

It changes the font size in mail and newsgroups also inbox outbox etc.Which
is what I needed.

Again THANKS a million to Kue2 and Richard Urban for your great Help. People

Personally I find it quite lame that Windows Mail and Internet Explorer
don't have simple settings to permanently change the font size.
Thunderbird and Firefox do.

Every so often when I use IE, I find myself thinking "Wow! What happened
to the font size?"

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
