My fonts have disappeared from the font box on PowerPoint. They are still
visible on my other Office applications. When I change a font in PowerPoint I
have to type it in. It is the same with the resizing. No options for resizing
of foonts is available, but I can change letter sizes by typing in new ones.
I have uninstalled and re-installed a few times, but the problem remains.
What should I do?

Pretty hard to give a decent reply without knowing the version of PowerPoint
your using. You might want to try from within PowerPoint under help Detect
and Repair

Do you have a local printer installed?

Thanks for replying. I have Office XP Professional 2002 installed. I tried
the detect and repair option, but this did not help.

This will sound strange, but have you rebooted recently?

A couple of other possibilites (both long-shots):

Close PPT. Then find and delete your *.PCB file. This is your PPT toolbars,
and PPT will regenerate it when you start it up again. You will lose any
toolbar customizations you have made.

Do you have any add-ins installed? It's possible one is conflicting,
although I know I haven't heard of anything with this specfic symptom.

What add-ins are loaded?

If you find any, I'd try uninstalling/disabling them and seeing if that
resolves the issue.

I cannot find the *.PCB file. I have rebooted many times over and there were
no add-ins installed at the time when the problem started to occur.

If you aren't finding the PCB files, then you might not have view hidden
files and folders turned on in Explorer. Check out this entry in the PPT FAQ
fro some ideas:
Make Windows show file extensions and hidden files

Make sure you're telling the search to look at hidden files and system
folders and search subfolders.

Okay, thanks for confirming.

Please run the code or the utility from the FAQ and let us know if it finds
any add-ins. There are a number of programs (especially various Office-wide
utilities) that install PPT add-ins, and you may have forgotten or not even
be aware they did so.
