Hello:

I don’t know whether this is the right place to put up my query
…however…here it goes…I have recently bought a Acer 4021 Laptop with
following config;

Intel Centrino 1.6
264 MB RAM
60 GB HD
Wi Fi (I don’t use it)
Bluetooth

With XP SP2

The problem I am facing is that …for past one week all the fonts and website
layout have gone for a toss…the msn website appears all jumbled up …not just
the font size but also the box size have increased 5 times…If I use Netscape
8 everything works fine…similarly on the google web page the text size is
large and the box size for search is also huge.

Following is a list of all the troubleshooting I have done on my own

1. Went to View>Text Size> Medium or smallest font size decreases but
slightly and the box size remain unaffected.
2. I have tried repairing IE 6 via INF file.
3. I have checked the display settings and everything seems fine.

The other problem is that after this thing started the display of certain
software like Norton Anti Virus and MS Media Player have also changed. Fonts
in MS Outlook have also increased…so my problem is if I stop using IE 6 and
use Netscape web browsing would be ok but the display problem will remain the
same for other programs.

Any suggestions will be more than welcome. Thanx for your time in advance.

Hi,
Check these settings:
Internet Options> General> Accessibility. For most users, nothing should be
checked.

Control Panel> Accessibility Options> Display. Make sure that High Contrast
is not checked. Also click on Settings and uncheck Use Shortcut. That will
disable the Alt+Shift+Print Screen shortcut to High Contrast.

Hope this helps,

Thanx for responding Don:

I have tried doing that …

however when I

Check these settings:

Internet Options> General> Accessibility. For most users, nothing should be
checked.

Nothing is checked.

Secondly, when I try to do the following

Control Panel> Accessibility Options> Display. Make sure that High Contrast
is not checked. Also click on Settings and uncheck Use Shortcut. That will
disable the Alt+Shift+Print Screen shortcut to High Contrast.

I can go as far as clicking on Accessibility Options after which I get a
Windows Error message “Accwiz.exe†therefore cannot check whether High
contrast is checked or not….

Any other suggestion or work around that I can try???

Regards,

Rahul

Hi,
Try Start> Run> (type in) access.cpl
See if that gets you to accessibility options.
