I just had to reinstall everything for a client with a hard drive failure.
She has some Excel spreadsheets with the Arial TUR font. I can't find it
anywhere on any of the computers in the office, nor on my own. Any ideas how
a spreadsheet could have a font that's not on the computer and where to find
it?

Thanks,
Cathy

I agree, but she notices something different about it. I think she's just
going to have to go with the Arial. Wouldn't the documents be using a
substitute for Arial TUR anyway if it's not on the computer?

Many programs load fonts when they are installed. My guess is that there
is a program or two that wasn't reinstalled that loaded the font.

How about this for an insight; use Google to find the information you seek.
Just enter "Arial TUR" as the search string. Hint - 'TUR' stands for
'Turkish'. That might be a good indicator of the source.

Thank you all so much for your responses. I'm going to do some tests
printing the spreadsheets that say their font is Arial TUR, then select all,
change font to Arial, and print to see if I can detect any difference. I
suspect a conversion has been going on for some time and the user just
wasn't aware of it. How she was able to select this font until the recent
installation of a new hard drive remains a mystery! Not sure what program
would have included it and she doesn't think it's worth purchasing.

Thanks again,
Cathy
