I keep trying to install a certain font, (Venetian 301)
and windows keeps telling me to "remove" the old version
first but I can't! It is NOT in the fonts folder! I cannot
remove something that's not there!!! I've never had any
problem with this font before. It is a copy off my old
computer. I did a search for the so-called font and it is
not on my computer and yet windows thinks it's in the font
folder!
I tried renaming the file but that didn't work. This is
driving me nuts!

Please help if you can...thanks

First, in Windows Explorer, use View,Folder Options (or whatever it's called
in XP) and 'Show Hidden Files and Folders'. Check again.

You may be looking for a file called Venetian 301 yet it may be there under
another name. (A font I have called Ancestory SF has a file name, yosh.ttf).
I use a super bit of freeware called XFonter at
http://users.pandora.be/eclypse/
which makes it very easy to manage my fonts folder. It will show you both
the font name and the file name in an easily sorted window and easily let
you compare and preview fonts.
