When I open a brand new PPT the default is Times New Roman 24 - (not
too bad). Then when I the first slide it goes to TNR 44 (can I get
rid of 44 forever?)
Also I want each new slide a blank one, so I can work on it as I
please.
Katherine, there are two default fonts in PPT:
1. for the textboxes you draw an yourself - for this Steve's suggestion will
help, because this default is stored on the slide itself
2. the defaults for each placeholder of the slide as there are the
slidetitle, the textplaceholder, the placeholder for the footers - they can
be changed on the slide master for the current presentation.
If you want to change everything you should go to "View / Master / Slide
master".
- Click on the slide and change the font
- Highlight everything with Ctrl+A and change the fonts to TNR
- Click in every single placeholder and change the font size
- Close the master
If you want to change your settings for every new presentation you have to
make a new "Blank.pot". It doesn't exist until you make one. Try like this:
- start a new presentation
- change the fonts on the master
- close the master view and return to the slide
- delete the first slide you don't want to have
- insert a blank slide
- save the presentation as "template" and give it the name "blank" (without
the quotation marks). If you give another name than "blank" you can use it
as a template in future but it will not be used by Powerpoint as the
starting new presentation.
From now on Powerpoint will use your blank.pot at the beginning and
everytime you click on the button "New".
