Hello all. I have a very unique problem that I really need help with. I have
Win 98SE 4.10.2222 A. It's an AMD-K6 3D processor with 128 MB of RAM... just
in case.

I'm running Office 97 SE.

I'm having great trouble with Office as a whole, but for Word, I can't seem
to change the fonts. Actually, for Office I can't seem to change the fonts.
I'm not a true newbie to Office. I know how to change Styles and reset the
default font. The problem lies where I simply have only ONE font to choose
from, even though I don't.

Office offers me Times New Roman... period, end of discussion. There are no
others fonts listed. However, if I go to C:\Windows\Fonts I can clearly see
that I have all the fonts I need. In fact, I have a whopping 410 fonts! So
why doesn't Office recognize this very important fact?

I've rerun setup, nothing. I've tried just about everything I know to do.

I really need to use the fonts available to me and any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Cindy

Install a printer and make it the Windows Default.

Is the printer that is selected as the default capable of printing
graphics?
Aha! No it is not. It's a dot matrix. I'm assuming that this is the problem?

I appreciate this. I'll set the inkjet as a default and see if that helps.
The problem then is that I'll have to switch the default printer back to the
dot matrix when I run DOS. I wish there was an easier way.

Thanks so much,

Cindy

Some dot matrix printers *are* capable of printing graphics, but not if
you're using a Generic/Text Only driver. You might see if there is another
driver you could use with the printer.
