Font problem in Notes using Business Contact Manager

I am entering notes under Business Contact History in
Outlook 2003 Business Contact Manager and adding bold,
underline and font size changes. When I save the note
and then go back to it, the everything is back to the
original font with none of the changes i made (i.e no
font change, no bold, no underline)

Bug? By Design?

By design. The database record keeps text only, not formatting.

It's an oddity related to the fact that you're entering data through an Outlook form where the formatting feature can't be totally turned off.
