I think I've nearly tried all the font viewers available but thought I would
ask incase I've missed something.... I have a lot of fonts and I have them
all backed up on CD what I would really like to be able to do, is have a
html file (or similar) that has a preview of all the fonts from all my CDs
and be able to just look at these previews to choose a font and be able to
find which CD it is on.... rather than viewing a folder full of fonts via
the font thing which crashes when the folder has more than a 1000 or so
fonts. It would also allow me to get all these fonts off my computer....I
hope I've explained this properly... perhaps there is a programmer here with
nothing else to do....lol... hint hint

Thanks I'll have a look at this... I don't really want to print the list out
as I have 1000s of fonts.... just want to be able to preview the font
without having all the fonts on the computer... but may have to resort to a
print out eventually if I can't find anything like this...
thanks!

I really like Font Runner, found here:
http://www.fontrunner.com/fontrunner/About.aspx

As far as I remember, it's free. I get no nags for it, at any rate.

What I really like about it is its ability to read not-installed
fonts, as well as installed ones. You choose via the folder tree.
No, there is no open dialogue box, but this is one of the few apps
where it doesn't bother me as much since Font Runner compensates for
that by being very good at what it does (my opinion, of course).

The other neat thing is that without opening any of the fonts, as soon
as they're displayed in the right-hand window pane, they become
"active". If you have Word open, for example, and are typing away,
while you're previewing a folder, all the fonts in that folder are
then available to Word or any other program. I find this esp. handy
in PaintShop Pro - if I need a font, I just open up the folder of my
choice and then all those fonts there are available for use.

Great little program. As I said, I do believe it is freeware and I've
never had problems using it.

Good luck.
