Is there any way of making the _status bar_ more legible?
I have a reduced vision problem, and would like to increase font size and/or
make it bold it if possible.

I already tried that, thanks.
Unfortunately it does _not_ affect the status bar, hence my question.

Zulu, I'm using the 120 DPI setting in Display> Settings> Advanced and have
ClearType enabled. The status bar is still pretty weak, even with those
settings. Possibly one of the "Item" settings in Display> Appearance>
Advanced. It would take some experimenting with each item to find the one
(if it exists) that ties into the status bar.

Have you tried the Magnifier for reading that line yet? Start> (All)
Programs> Accessories> Accessibility> Magnifier. Or try switching the theme
to "XP Classic" and then checking out the Large and Extra Large schemes in
Display Properties> Appearance> Advanced.

Hi Sharon,

I just tried *Magnifier*,
It's no good for my needs, although it's _very_ effective!
I need to read the length of dimensions in the status bar when I use Visio,
and as I'm dragging the line to length with the mouse I can't therefore
place the pointer over the status bar.

There must be a way to just make the font bigger/bolder!!!!
I will investigate further, meanwhile, keep thinking... :-)

I just made the menu and message box fonts *Bold* and it is _much* easier
for me to read, but I'm darned if I can find a way to do it for the status
bar.
C'mon people!
Show me how smart you are........... :-)
