If you deleted the font files, they would usually no longer show in
Word's font list. Three possibilities:
1) You deleted only part of the font's files. Some fonts are installed
with more than one file. There might be separate files for the Regular
(sometimes called Roman), Bold, Italic, Bold Italic. For architectural
reasons, these show up on word's menu as one font. The font will still
list as long as even one of the font files is present.
2) The font file is present in more than one folder and the installed
copy is actually still present and installed.
To remedy this, navigate to Control Panel Fonts and delete the font
using that applet.
3)The font is a 'device' font. I.e, it is present in the printer's ROM.
This font can only be de-listed by using a different printer driver, one
which is compatible with the printer but does not use device fonts, or by
selecting 'Use only TrueType fonts' where possible.
