Font & image issues

I created a presentation in PowerPoint2000 and I inserted
bitmap images which I created in Photoshop.
I made sure that I made the bitmap backgrounds the same
colour as the presentation background and the bitmaps
images were flattened before being inserted in the
presentation.
When I view the presentation on my computer all is fine
but when I view it on another computer, the bitmap
backgrounds have reverted to white!!!
Why is this? And what can I do about it?
Also, I have a variety of fonts being used but when I
tried to view the presentation on another computer, the
fonts had all changed and I then realised that that
computer does nothave the same fonts installed.
The problem is that I have to send this presentation to
another country and have no way of knowing what fonts will
be installed on the computer it will be shown from.
I am assuming I must send them the fonts as well and have
them install the correct fonts on the computer they will
use but I was wondering if there's an easier (more
automatic) way of ensuring the correct fonts are seen.
I would VERY VERY much appreciate a quick reply if at all
possible as the presentation has to be sent inthe next 24
hours.
Thanks so much

Hi Mercedes,
I cannot help you on the first question but maybe on the subject of fonts.
You can embed the font in the presentation maybe that could help. If not
someone else will put me right. Select the menu Tools and choose options, on
the save tab you will find an option to embed the font.

You can try embedding the fonts, but your success with this will depend
on the fonts themselves. http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00076.htm
has better info.

Do you know at least if the other computers have PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP)
on them? It has issues with transparency sometimes.
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00323.htm

But if your backgrounds are the same color as the slide backgrounds and
not actually transparent channels or anything, then that might not be
the issue.

Are those images animated?

In addition to the other suggestions, I would try changing the video
settings on the computer where the white background is showing up. I think
I recall there being problems with transparency on some systems that went
away when the color depth (ie, bazillions of colors instead of 256 or
whatever) was changed.

Yeah, especially when those images are animated. That was going to be my
next suggestion. :-)
