Hello!

Can anybody tell me if there is a way to border a font on a contrastin
color? I like to use scenic backgrounds but this makes it difficult t
see because of the variety of colors in the background. I have trie
adding a shadow but that just isn't enough. I really need to be able t
use a light colored font with a black border. I have PowerPoint 2003
Thanks for your help

PowerPoint can't give a font's stroke and fill different colors the way some
drawing programs can. As Bill suggests, Word Art is one workaround. If you
have Corel Draw, Illustrator or a similar drawing program, you can try setting
the text there, then saving as WMF for import into PowerPoint (make sure you
specify that text is to be exported as curves, not text)

On the other hand, sometimes all you need to do is a bit of trickery with
manually created drop shadows:

Select your original text box
Duplicate it and reposition it so it's just a pixel or two offset right and
down.
Duplicate the original again and offset it a pix or two left and up.

Color the duplicates something that contrasts with the background.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the specific capability that you are looking for.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide font formatting features (outline next, skewing, strike-through,
etc.), don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to
Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
