Font appearance changed

I did something when I was looking at the display settings
and the appearance of the letters/typeface has now changed
so that they are not clear and unfuzzy like they were
before I messed with it. The letters now seem to have a
shadow/one side thicker than the other look about them.
Help please.
 
Rightclick open area center of screen/Properties/Appearance tab/Effects button
Set Transition for Fade Effect and Method to Stardard. Click Apply and OK.

Perhaps you enabled drop shadows? To disable: System Properties> Advanced>
Performance> Settings. On the next screen that appears,uncheck any options
that state "drop shadow."

Also, if you are using ClearType, you might like to visit the online tuner
for this feature. I like and use ClearType but find that I enjoy it more
after tuning it to my liking. If interested, check here:
