this is a follow up to this question:
I have now deleted some address books and unfortunalely my msn is was one of
them so i have no more msn addresses. i did have a back up of my outlook
contacts which reinstalled and they are fine. the only problem is, how do i
get to them. they only show up when i cllick on the contact folder under the
calender. when i click on the 'to' in an email the only thing that shows up
is personal address book and there is nothing in there. how can i access my
outlook contacts and make it my default. ------------- any ideas on the msn
address book. thank you

Right click on the Contacts folder under your MSN folder list, choose
Properties, go to the Outlook Address Book tab and check the "Show this
folder as an email address book" box.

Thank you but the problem is that there is no contact folder under the msn folder list and i can't locate it excetp to open up the contact tab on the bottom under calender. the contact folder does not show up otherwise. when i go to the contact folder and go to address bood the option of show this folder as an address book greyed out.

Did you remove the Outlook Address Book service all together?

No, the address book is still there when i click on the contacts tab. i just don't can't access it from any of the usual methods. if i want to send a message from the to button then i have to go into the contacts folder to retrieve the address unless it shows up from a previous email.

no , the address book is still there but when i try to follow your
instructions i find the option greyed out.

no just one. i think it is called personal contacts or something like that. i
tried the dropdown but there is nothing else . there are no contents in the
dialogue box.

yes when i go to tools/email settings/ view or change address books and then
go to address books i find personal address book map 1. when i go to the
contacts folder in outlook and right click on the contact icon and click on
properties where the addresses are and go to outlook address book i find the
name of the address book greyed out.

You've got to remove the Personal Address Book service where you saw it
since you don't need it and add the Outlook Address Book service. That
should enable the check box we're talking about
