Recently, when I double click on a folder, the search
window opens. When I right click on a folder, "Search"
is the first open listed followed by "Open". I need to
change this so that when I double click on a folder, it
opens to reveal the contents. Also, sent this has been
happening, the color within the folder has changed.

Any suggestions/

Use Folder Options> File Types and select the "Folder" entry involved.
Click Advanced. Select Open as the default action. Click OK.

to make these changes for you automatically:

For the problem with the folder icon's color, check the following key in
the registry. Edit to the values shown below if necessary:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]
"Shell Icon BPP"="16"
"Shell Icon Size"="32"
