Greetings:
I have several win2k sp4/IE6 installations running on
multiple machines. I am trying to better understand
folder view behavior. Can someone please explain or tell
me how to configure the following:
Why do the folder view settings change randomly during
sessions or on reboot? Specifically, why do
window/folders open in random sizes during a session?
Let's say you open your browser window and maximize it's
view. You finish with the Internet and close the window
using the "x". You open WORD it opens full screen. You
type a document or two. You save and close WORD. You
click Internet Explorer on the desktop, and this time your
browser window opens to a smaller size. You maximize it
and close it. The next time you open it, it opens
maximized. Meanwhile, you have performed this operation
with "remember each folders view settings" both checked
and unchecked in folder options/view tab. The pages being
opened in the browser DO NOT have an abnormal or small
frame size specified in the HTML. Once again, you open
your browser, it opens maximized. You open Excel and your
spreadsheet looks like a 4x6 picture on your 21in.
monitor. You maximize and then close the app. You
shutdown. The next morning after boot, you open Excel
first. One day it opens maximized, the next it opens
whatever it has decided on. It doesn't matter if you
close it maximized or at a size you may have made by
resizing manually. I have absolutely no loss of
functionality, this is just an annoyance I have been
challenged to find an answer for.
