I an unable to rename a new folder in XP. When I click
on "file" the link to "rename" is grayed out (inactive).
I can right click on the new folder, but that doesn't
work either.

Since I am fairly computer illiterate ;) How do I know
what startup programs can be deleted and which i should
not touch. In Task Manager and "processes" I have 59
processes....can some of them be deleted to speed up
things? How do I know which ones?

If a function is greyed out, that essentially means that the function is not
available FOR THAT PARTICULAR FOLDER.. true of other functions too

Deleting programs from running in Task Manager may or may not speed up your
pc.. that is dependant upon how much resource each program uses.. ensure
that you have at least 512mb RAM installed.. that helps no end..

Hi Phil...I do so much appreciate your help. When I go
into My Documents (administrator) I can't change the name
of ANY of the folders, They're all grayed out. ARUGH
And when I create a new one, there's no changing it
from "new folder" which is not going to help me find
things in the future.

I have plenty of RAM - just looks like a lot of "stuff"
in the process list ;)
