folders opening in the search frame

Hi

I don't know what happened but now whenever I double
click on a folder it opens up in the "search results"
area. I can't find how to change it back. Have gone to
tools--folder optons --but it won't default back to
actually opening the folder. Also is there a way to
permanently open certain folders to the thumbnail view?
