Folders not showing up in File Manager

On a W2k Pro machine, over the network, when I try and open a mapped dir only
some or none of the folders are showing in the right hand pane!!. The
Network and shares are fine and other users can see all the folders. If I
then reboot the machine they all return... anybody experienced this before??-
Help or advice would be appreciated.

is it working with offline folders?
