when I click open, the files box pops open, but all of a
sudden, the folders are in some sort of jumbled order
making it very hard to traverse.

how can I get them back into alphabetical order? this
isn't happening in Word2000, just PP2000. thanks.

Milo,

If you click the "headings" in the file boxes (e.g. name. type. size. date etc) then your computer will resort the list.

e.g. click "name" and it will list things alphabetically....click it again and it will reverse the order.

To undo what you've done, go to File > Open. In the window that appears, click
on the little arrow next to the Views icon to the left of Tools at the top.
From the drop down menu hover over "Arrange Icons". From that drop down menu
select "by Name".

Sonia, that did it, thanks. But I'm curious -- did I do
something such that there are not headings on the columns
so that I can click on them to sort (as Taj suggested in
the previous note)?

Or were they never there in PP2000 and I just never
noticed til it went wrong?

No. I think TAJ was thinking that you had the Details view selected. I
guessed that you had "List" selected. I'm a woman and have better intuition.
