Hi all,

One of my user has created a folder on a partition. Now when he is creating subfolder under that folder, he is sometime unable to view the newly created folder. Some time he is able to view and sometime he dont. What could be wrong? Please help.

User is running Windows 2000 pro.

In Windows Explorer, tools, folder options, view. Ya will see hide/unhide and a few other options play with it.

Right click on the folder, properties, check if its hidden.

Post back if ya tryed this. Someone might know whats happenin and how to fix it..

It sound like something went wrong with Explorer it shouldnt do that.
I think ya might pest scan the thing. I have seen this before and the registry was damaged by hackin pest, but it was a few years ago and I dont recall how I fixed it. If a pest did it removing the pest might not help ya cause Explorer is what every program runs on and its real deep in Windows.

This kinda stuff often happens to hacked low security PCs.

Any registry or Explorer xpurts..

X is the unknown factor and spurt is a drip under pressure.

Thanks for the reply TECHGUNS. It was very weird problem for me atleast. But actually there was no problem. User had the same folder structure on two different volumes and he was creating one folder under one structure and was trying to look into other structure.

I am sorry for posting before digging into it.

No problem.

I think that I learned something new.

The next time I see something like this I'll know about checking this.
