folders cause crash

whenever i do two functions immediately one after the other with the folders
in my windows xp pro.
such as copy from one folder and paste to the other (when the two folders
are open)
such as closing one folder when another folder is still open (even if
minimized)
all the windows disappear, my task bar disappears and then after about 3
seconds everything comes back EXCEPT the open FOLDERS. all the rest
continues to work including running programs but the open folders (for some
reason) need to be re-opened as if they were not..
i always get a "send error to Microsoft" crash window alert immediately
before the folders disappear and clicking on"don't send" causes the whole
thing to crash and then return.
note: this started to go wrong after i installed and started to use Spybot
Search and Destroy and/or spywareblaster
i don't want to reinstall xp.
is there a solution to all these crashes?
thanks

What you are describing is Explorer crashing and then restarting. I would
uninstall that app and then restore your system to an earlier date, before
you did the install, to make sure you have the best possible chance of
getting rid of it.

I would need more information on those programs to be sure but I'm guessing
they are causing the crashes.

I have had no problems with SpyBot, don't have any
information about spywareblaster

Hi Ali
I run Spybot with no problems, but the Spyblaster, read the review from the
parasite checker site , called 'and.doxdesk.com', have to say about the
latter.
I would remove it, and see what happens, as it may be treating the wrong
files, as spyware.

a.. SpywareBlaster by JavaCool takes a different, complementary approach.
Instead of detecting or removing its targets, it inoculates your computer by
telling it never to execute certain software. This stops you downloading
some types of parasite, and stops others from working. However, like the
script on this page, it can only target ActiveX controls, so it is not a
complete solution.

a.. Also, he (and.doxdesk.com),could not get the program to run, so he could
not rate it's effectiveness.

Hope this helps

Rob.

I would restore all that spybotsd deleted in case something was deleted
that was needed.
Then run spybot again and carefully read each entry for what it says is
spyware and where.
It may have rendered some program unworkable that had spyware in it.

I have found it helpful to read what the computer wants to send to
Microsoft. It gives clues to the problem sometimes taht I can
understand:>)
