Folder won't delete

I have a folder on my desktop that will not delete. Everytime I delete it or
rename it, it reappears the next time i start up my computer. This folder
has been on my desktop for over a year. Is there any way to get rid of this
permenately? I'm currently using Windows XP.

Which Folder, is it leftover from an Old uninstalled application?.
If so, try to delete it in safe Mode by Restarting your Computer and tapping
F8 until you get the Boot Options and select Safe Mode.

If safe Mode didn't help then try this tool:

Be careful though when using this Tools as it can be good when you know what
you are deleting it can be bad news if you delete a file/folder belong to the
System.

Thanks for the suggestions. The folder is a regular folder that a friend
created to save music in. The folder has been empty for quite a while now,
with no contents. I'm going to try that when I get home.
