Folder Views Not Saved

The problem I have is that after I set the folder views the way I want them, the views invariably -- over time -- revert back to icons or tiles (or whatever they are) instead of details. I can reset and reset and reset and it will not save the views I select. In the options, I have checked the setting for remembering folder settings. Obviously, I do not necessarily want all of the views to be the same (pictures as thumbnails, e.g., not details), so applying a uniform default view to all folders would be undesirable. Explorer will also not save my selection of displaying the status bar

This seems to be a fairly widespread problem. I see a lot of complaints about it on the Internet. Some advise changing registry settings to increase the maximum most recently viewed files from 400 to 8000. But what I notice about this failure is that it affects all of the folders -- not just the ones that haven't been viewed in a long time.

Thank you for your thoughts

Welcome to GatesWorld. I hated this problem so bad that I found a program that does it right the first time, ever
time. Try the link to the following

You will enjoy this file management program far better than Windows Explorer. Test it out.
