In Windows 2000, how do you maintain folder view setting
from on folder to the next using windows explorer? I want
all folders to show files in the list viewing instead of
icons.

To set all you folder views the same, do this:

1. Open an Explorer window and set it how you want all windows to look.
2. Click Tools- Folder Options.
3. On the View tab, click 'Like Current Folder'.
4. Click OK.

Configure Explorer as you prefer to have it, then go to "Tools\Folder
Options\View" and press the button "Like Current Folder".

In my tedious experience it is just as explained by the
first two replies, except that you have to do it several
times on different folders before windows actually
remembers!

WHy they couldn't just have sensible defaults (of many
options) beats me.
