folder task menu

If I double click on a folder I am sent to the search menu. If I right click
on a folder the word Search is first on the list and highlighted in bold.
System Restore is unable to restore my settings to an earlier time.
How do I change my (right-click) task menu back to where Open is highlighted
in bold so that when I right-click a folder it opens?
