I keep a shortcut of some folders on my desktop for easy access. If I
place a file in the shortcut folder, does it then exist in the original
folder (or does just a copy exist in the original folder)? Thanks.

A shortcut is nothing more than a reference to the actual folder so when you
save to the shortcut it is folder.

There is no "shortcut folder," and you can *not* put a file there. The
shortcut is nothing more than a tiny file pointing to the location of
the actual folder itself. When you do what you call "plac[ing] a file
in the shortcut folder," you are using the shortcut to point to the
real folder; that's where the file gets placed.

Does it Matter.
Yes, it does if I decide to erase my shortcut folder and have placed
some original files in it.

I hate people who provide stupid answers!!!!!! Why bother?

Thanks, Ken, for a very clear answer.
